Apple supplier AMS's Q4 profit soars thanks to sensor technology

AMS reported a more than tenfold increase in fourth quarter profit as
the Austria-based group benefited from rising demand for the sensors it
makes for smartphone producers such as Apple.
The company, which has a Swiss listing, said on Tuesday its profit
increased to 141.1 million euros ($174.58 million) from 13.7 million
euros a year earlier.
AMS last week reported its fourth quarter revenues increasing 252 percent to 470.3 million euros, and raised its sales outlook.
